Club meetings schedule

The Chalfont and Amersham Wine Club meets every month on the first Tuesday at 8pm.  We try to finish about 10.30pm.  The venue is Little Chalfont Village Hall, Cokes Lane, Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire, HP7 9QA.  click here for a map

The evening consists of a presenter, usually an independent wine merchant or other knowledgeable wine lover, presenting about nine wines on a theme.  There is always lots of conversation and laughter, plenty of debate and a wide range of opinions.  Everyone enjoys learning about new discoveries and comparing the different wines.  The main emphasis is on informality, relaxed conversation and FUN!

A light buffet is provided but please bring your own tasting glasses – at least two to be able to compare wines side by side.  The Club now sells the recommended ISO tasting glasses at a very reasonable price should you not already have these. 

The typical cost of an evening is £10 - £15.  Great value for an enjoyable evening!  

Due to enormous popularity, we now have a waiting list for new membership.  Please contact us if you would like to join the membership waiting list.

We have also arranged a few special events for 2011.  An evening of tasting Italian wines and delicatessen at Filippetto's in Little Chalfont has proved so popular that it had to be extended to two events in April and May.  In fact, it was so popular that we have now arranged for two more events in March 2012 (13th and 20th).  Tickets are £20 and are open to members and their guests.  But places are limited so book quickly.

The Club also had a day out in Kent in May 2011 with visits and tastings at two excellent vineyards with a top quality lunch with wine at one of them.  See the June 2011 newsletter for a report.

The Summer Party 2011 was again held at Elizabeth and Alistair Elliott's home in Little Chalfont on 2nd July.  The event is always popular and very well attended and this year's was graced with beautiful weather.  A great time was had, with excellent wine, food, conversation and a quiz.  Book early for next year's event.

Each month the club votes for a "Wine of the Month" and in April we re-taste all the "Wines of the Month" to find the "Wine of the Year".
